A simple black-and-white vexel of Korean superstar Jeon Ji Hyun. I made this as simple as possible just to see if I could complete it in less than 2 hours. Why that long, you ask? I always make my vexels with the intentions of printing it, so I had to double-check all sorts of factors like color, overprint, file size/type, etc.
Can't wait to see Jeon Ji Hyun in the live-action "Blood: The Last Vampire" due out later this year. Check her out in "My Sassy Girl" and "Windstruck."
I'm glad you like it! I've been meaning to make a colored version of this vexel but haven't got the time yet.
Say, aren't you a member in vexels.net? My PC's cookie setting is giving me fits and I can't seem to access my vexels.net account -- I'm unable to upload anything. But for some reason I have no problems opening deviantArt.
Thx! Whenever I see pics of Jeon Ji Hyun on the net, I'd notice how soft they are, which accentuates her natural beauty. Making a vexel of her with too much shadow and/or contrast would be an injustice.
As for the hair? I always seem to dread doing long strands of hair yet I manage to have the most fun doing hair. I know, that sounds kinda strange.
Oh, that's right. You're the comic book fan. Sweet! :joy: 'Tis a great time for comic book fans 'cuz so many superheroes are turned into movies these days. Which reminds me, I gotta check out "Iron Man"...
I've played around with my cookies setting and I still can't get into v.net. Not only is it weird, it's also annoying to the nth degree! I'll get into v.net again one way or another.
Haha you're right about those movies, love them all As for the v.net- I had the same problem with vectorpeeps.com- the problem resolved itself. After few months haha
Yeah, I had trouble logging into v-net till last night; wasn't able to upload anything. :anger: But all is well now...for the time being.
I was actually inspired to make this vexel after remembering those celebrity b&w pencil/graphite portraits that are sold in the mall at Print Plus; they had soft textures but the shadows and blending (around the eyes in particular) really captured my attention. Too bad I never got around to buying any of those portraits 'cuz I really liked the one with Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. :sadness:
And yes, that is my signature. I seem to get compliments on my handwriting. I appreciate you liking it...I suppose.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
